Theme of Artwork
With Joe's passion for classical music
and his practice in art, he chose the
cello as his subject for his paintings.
As a result Joe created a plaster model
of a half cello and half woman, he
dubbed, Charlotte - the cello woman.

Charlotte has since been Joe's
imaginary muse used to express and
explore the many possibilities of
juxtaposed forms and imagery from art
and music.

Artistic Style and Medium
Joe paints in an abstract/figurative style.
Joe's preferred medium is acrylic on
canvas using bold, spontaneous and
fluid brush strokes to project a stylistic
look and feel. He also likes to use a
predetermined colour palette to
maintain colour consistency in his work.
